Members of the Scientific Advisory Board for the universities of applied sciences

Since 2005 the OAQ is active in the field of universities of applied sciences (UAS). In order to be prepared for this new task, the OAQ created the Scientific Advisory Board for Universities of applied sciences. The five members were elected upon the recommendation of the Rectors’ Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (KFH) by the OAQ.

Prof. Dieter Euler, PhD, President

Studies in business administration and business education at the University of Applied Sciences Rheinland-Pfalz in Trier and at the University of Cologne. From 1981 to 1982 Visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science. 1988 Doctorate Dr. rer. pol. in Business Education at the University of Cologne. 1994 Habilitation in Business Education at the University of Cologne. Since 2000 Professor for Educational Management and Business Education at the University of St. Gallen as well as Director of the Institute for Business Education at the University of St. Gallen.  Founder and scientific Director of the Swiss Centre for Innovations in Learning (SCIL).

Prof. Jacques P. Bersier
   

Born 1955. Studies in mechanical and electro engineering at the university of applied sciences (1975/1978). Several years of work experience in the engineering industry in Switzerland as well as the United States. Since 1984 professor for mechanical engineering and numeric simulation at the University of Applied Sciences Fribourg, a partner school of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland. 1994 diploma in Business Informatics at the University of Freiburg. Since 2003 deputy director of the department Engineering and Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Freiburg and head of applied research and development. Since 2008, parallel to his other activities, coordinator of the scientific and technical center of the canton Fribourg and since 2009 member of the research center for competitiveness at the University of Fribourg.

Martin Prchal

Born 1967 in Prague (Czech Republic). Since 2001 Chief Executive of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC). Trained as a musician (violoncello), he holds teaching and performance diplomas and a MA in musicology. In his current position, he has developed a substantial expertise in EU project management through his involvement in several music projects in various EU programmes. His knowledge on issues in relation to professional music training in Europe, and the Bologna Declaration and its implications for higher music education is internationally acknowledged.
Prof. Jürgen von Troschke, PhD

Born in 1941 in Gladbeck/Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany). Studies in medicine, philosophy, psychology and sociology in Würzburg and Munich. 1970 Doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. 1971 license to practice medicine. 1974 habilitation in «Medical Sociology» at the University of Ulm. From 1973 to 2007 professor and head of the Department of Medical Sociology at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, Germany. Since 2001 executive director of the accreditation agency AHPGS that conducts procedures for degree courses in the area of health and social matters.
