Accreditation for the universities of applied sciences in Switzerland
The Accreditation System in the domain of the universities of applied sciences is based on the partial revision of the federal law on the universities of applied sciences. The revised law, in particular the new Article 17a implements the accreditation of universities of applied sciences and their programmes.
Since January 2008 the OAQ is officially recognised by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (FDEA) as an Agency for the accreditation of universities of applied sciences and as such has the right to carry out accreditation procedures. The decisions are made by the FDEA.
